To solve this, change the report type from "pdf" to "OpenOffice - pdf output".

Actually this is stated in how to create first report...

ype – you may choose from two options supported by this reporting engine. “OpenOffice - odt/ods output” creates “*.odt” or “*.ods” OpenOffice.org editable files, depending on the format of your template, but “OpenOffice - pdf output” creates “*.pdf” files.

Hervé, thanks for your help!! Now report_openoffice works!

I forgot to install report_openoffice module in "Administration-> Modules Management". This is why I couldn't see "OpenOffice - pdf output" and I chose "pdf" instead... I realized about this issue previously, but not during that testing on another virtual machine. My fault!
